Today's walk: Black Brows - a HuMP near Windermere

on the public footpath north of the hill

climbing up above the footpath

is there any way through these trees?

emerging from the trees into bog ..

.. and then bracken

approaching the summit rocks of Black Brows

looking back north on our ascent route from near the top ..

.. Esthwaite Water comes into view

the summit rock

Rowland grasps the rock and wonders about getting down the steep summit boulder

Jim comes up with a lot more confidence ..

.. and poses for a summit photo on this very rarely climbed hill

a glimpse of Windermere from the summit slabs

the summit is up to the right of this massive slab

Windermere from just below the summit boulder

Rowland and Jim with the summit boulder behind

starting the descent with Esthwaite Water ahead

a view west from near the top

the tree covered hill in the middle of this picture is the Marilyn Claife Heights

zooming in on Esthwaite Water

back on the public footpath
