Today's walks: 4 small HuMPs in north east England

Strawberry Hill:

this fine fellow was guarding the obvious way onto the hill (not a right of way) ..

.. so we resorted to the neighbouring ploughed field with the bull behind the hedge

Strawberry Hill summit looking west ..

.. and looking east from the trig pillar to the fence which had to be climbed

Sherriff Hill:

an opportunity to live on top of Gateshead - the bedrooms above the highest natural ground

the mast and a covered reservoir behind a hostile fence occupy the highest ground

view west from somewhere near the top

Pontop Pike:

the route to the top contours above the edge of Dipton ..

.. then up through a wood ..

.. to the trig pillar and masts at the top

some of the masts on top of Pontop Pike

Pontop Pike from the lane on its southern slopes

Currock Hill:

approaching the undistinguished top of Currock Hill in a grassy field

zooming in eastwards with Newcastle vaguely in the distance

view north from the starting point for the hill ..

.. and again zoomed in
