today's walk: Pillar from Ennerdale

Anglers Crag from the shore of Ennerdale Water

today's goal, Pillar, from Ennerdale Water with Steeple in a bit of cloud to the right

my bike hidden in the bracken where I plan to descend - a bike is invaluable in Ennerdale

looking back at the forest roads from the very rough and boggy path heading into Pillar Cove

looking up at Pillar Rock from the stream flowing out of Pillar Cove

looking east to Robinson's Cairn with the Helvellyn ridge in the distance as I join the high level path

on the Shamrock Traverse with High Stile to the right

Pillar Rock - the slab of 'Slab and Notch' route up it is conspicuous in the middle of this shot
