today's walk (Keswick rambling club): Bannerdale Crags

descending to River Glenderamackin with Bannerdale Crags in mist ahead


crossing River Glenderamackin ..


.. and proceeding to its head in gently falling snow


heading for the top of Bannerdale Crags

dropping below the mist on the path beside The Tongue


entering Mungrisdale village


returning on the gated road below Souther Fell


a magnificent oak beside the road


looking back at the same oak tree


Blencathra ahead as the weather brightens


looking eastwards from the road ..


.. and westwards as the sun appears
