17th November 2009

ducks on the pond near Derwentwater Hotel with Derwentwater and Catbells in the distance

the path to the lake from the hotel

on the riverside path with the River Derwent beyond

only the duckboards make this route feasible even in wellies

the flooded path looking towards the foot of Derwentwater

the riverside and lakeside walks are both 'in the lake' walks at present

my return path looking to Portinscale - this is where water came over the top of my wellies

next day even the easy track to the lake is under water ..

.. taken over by ducks and difficult for humans even in thighlength wellies

looking in from the west with Clough Head in mist beyond

Latrigg seen over what is usually rather boggy grassland
